Whale Shark at Richelieu Rock Thailand

July 22, 2006 — Thailand's Richelieu Rock is a "hot spot" for whale shark sightings and on 4th March 2005 I was lucky enough to capture the World's largest fish in all its glory. This female whale shark (Rhincodon typus) is missing the top of her tail and would be easy to identify again.
The music is "Freefall Into The Blue" by Mark Ellison.

Whale Sharks of Grayton Beach

August 10, 2009 — My special thanks to James Griffith for providing me with the beautiful underwater footage of the Grayton Beach Whale Sharks to make this movie. Without his wonderful video, I would only have...a nice soundtrack.Five Whale Sharks appeared just offshore from Grayton Beach, Florida in the first week of August in 2009. They remained in the local waters for two days. Many of the people chartering the Grayton Beach fishing boats and one group of divers photographed and swam with the whales during the two-day event. A Whale Shark is not a whale (mammal) but is a gentle, non-dangerous, filter-feeding shark that is the largest living fish species. James Griffith, a local firefighter/diver in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida captured the beautiful underwater video. The large school of bigger fish swimming with the whale shark are cobia.UpdateThe Whale Sharks were back today (8/10/09).UpdateOn 8/12/09 after three days of searching I finally saw the Whale Sharks of Grayton Beach live. I saw them, I photographed them and I touched the fin of one of them as it surfaced beside my boat. It was an amazing experience. What beautifully graceful creatures.Update8/13/09 The Whale Sharks are still in the Grayron Beach area. Yesterday Cynthia Turner, Leslie Provow, Celeste Cobena and finally me, all had the marvelous experience of swimming with the Whale Sharks. What beautifully peaceful animals. We saw three different whale sharks yesterday and will be back looking for them again today. What an experience!Edmond Edmond Alexander 850 231-4112James Griffith 850 835-5289©2009 Edmond Alexander

NOAA Titanic Expedition 2004: Breathtaking Wreck Footage

December 18, 2007 — Breathtaking... Nearly 20 years after first finding the sunken remains of the R.M.S. Titanic, marine explorer Robert Ballard returned in June 2004 helped by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Ocean Exploration to study the ship's rapid deterioration. The R.M.S. Titanic team worked aboard the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from May 30 through June 9 spending 11 days at the wreck site, mapping the ship and conducting scientific analysis of its deterioration. Using the Institute for Exploration (IFE) remotely operated vehicles (ROV's) Hercules and Argus, to conduct a sophisticated documentation of the state of Titanic was not possible in the 1980's. This "Look, don't touch" mission utilized high-definition video and stereoscopic still images to provide an updated assessment of the wreck site at an enormous depth of 3,840 meters (12,600 feet). As the nation's ocean agency, NOAA has a vested interest in the scientific and cultural aspects of the Titanic, and in its appropriate treatment and preservation. NOAA's focus is to build a baseline of scientific information from which we can measure the shipwreck's processes and deterioration, and then apply the knowledge we gain to other deep-water shipwrecks and submerged cultural resources. Beautiful Film of Scuba Diving in a Newly Flooded Meadow.

September 21, 2009 — Beautiful Film of Scuba Diving in a Newly-Flooded Meadow.Hiking trails, picnic tables, benches and signs all under water in this very relaxing video filmed in Austria. See more at http://swift-move.comThe "Grüner See" (engl. Green Lake) is situated in upper styria, austria (see geotag). It is amazingly beautiful because of its deep green/blue colour and the surrounding alpine scenery. The lake itself dries up in autumn but fills up with melting water. The water itself of the lake is extremely pure, like glass. The colour is a result of light refraction."The night before there seemed to be heavy rain and too much of the pollen were flushed in the water and were floating. So the visibility could be much better, i´ve missed the „crystal clear water. You have to know the Green Lake is famous for its clear water. The good thing for this day was the water level with 9,40m. Spring flowers, plants, benches, hiking trails were below the surface. And i have found out when its the best time during the two to three months "flood" to get in the water - i was to early in this season. Altough the water temperature was between 5 and 6 degrees Celcius i did two dives (85 and 96 minutes long)My face was well frozen, i can hardly speak afterwards. I hoped this procedure kept my face young and skintight. After watching the footage it seemed to be different."The beautiful music is by "Tabolomegalo"
